PHOTOS AND REVIEW OF SCENIC DRIVE FROM MILLER MOTORCARS GREENWICH CT TO LIME ROCK PARK

By: Mike Odierna

FCA/ Miller Motorcars Pirelli World Challenge Event

What a wonderful day was had by all who were lucky enough to sign up early and get club access to the Pirelli World Challenge Race event sponsored by Miller Motorcars! The day started early with a light breakfast at Miller in Greenwich at their amazing facility. As always, there was quite an array of eye candy including a Pagani Huayra, new Lusso, DB11s and DB9’s, Volantes, Maserati MC12 GT, F40 and too many other spectacular cars to list. It is always a treat to see the latest and historical greatest sports cars ever built which is usually on display for sale or in for service.

After breakfast and a short meeting, a delightful rally to the foothills of the Berkshires ensued. Many a police officer was monitoring the road during Memorial Day weekend, but luckily, none of the AMOC members had their morning tarnished.

Club members were directed to a special Miller coral directly adjacent to our hospitality tent where event participants enjoyed an assortment of snacks and a boxed lunch with refreshments. Paddock access was granted and a tour of the gorgeous race rigs and glorious race cars was there for all to enjoy. Manufacturers included Astons, Bentleys, Lotus’, McLarens, Cadilacs, and Ferraris

A meet and greet of the drivers was a big plus for those looking to get autographs from their heroes. The racing action was exciting but in the end, our favorite cars from Gaydon were not on the podium. McLaren, Porsche and Audi enjoyed the top spots.

Lime Rock is a great Venue to view this caliber of racing and was well worth the drive to see truly world class cars and world famous drivers battling for position. As a long time competitive racer, this lucky club member definitely has an appreciation for masters of the craft at the highest level. The event did not disappoint!

Special thanks to our sponsor, Miller Motorcars, Pirelli, who helped coordinate this very special event for AMOC.
