*Thursday* Evening June 27th AMOC Dinner at Serevan Restaurant


Serevan is a country restaurant with an intimate sensibility. Since opening its doors on May 5, 2005, chef/owner Serge Madikians has developed an original, distinctive cuisine based on both his proximity to the farms of the Hudson Valley and his heritage as an Armenian from Iran. Drawing inspiration both from the Hudson Valley and his native region, and utilizing techniques from diverse cuisines, Serge creates dishes that redefine and elevate country cooking with dishes such a falafel-crusted Snapper served over ribbons of zucchini and squash, charred tomatoes and Aleppo pepper broth, or east coast halibut with Persian cucumber, Armenian Basturma and Israeli pickles in an herb broth.

Located in an antique farmhouse in the hamlet of Amenia, NY, Serevan is beloved by its devoted local clientele as well as destination dining for anyone seeking a culinary adventure in a romantic, gracious and comfortable setting, surrounded by lush gardens where Serge grows flowers, vegetables and herbs for the restaurant, such as Blue African basil, fennel, potatoes, string beans, and Persian cucumbers.

Serevan’s menu is a synthesis of the foreign and familiar, an expression of Serge’s personal history and his passion for the Hudson Valley, which he has called home for over a decade.  Furthermore, Serevan’s menu celebrates and honors the seasons, and Serge visits nearby farms each week to choose fruits and vegetables —from spring’s asparagus, spinach and strawberries to summer’s heirloom tomatoes, peaches and plums. For many years, he visited New York’s Hunts Point Fishmarket each week to personally select his seafood and now that he has a pilot’s license he regularly flies to Cape Cod to buy fish fresh off the boat.

Whether dining at the convivial bar, on the garden terrace or in one of the two dining rooms decorated with a mix of local landscape paintings and black-and-white photographs of his family, guests at Serevan are treated to a singular dining experience that is warm, welcoming and delicious.
